Our 3 bedroom craftsman bungalow is located on a quiet residential street in Bay View, one of Milwaukee's most vibrant neighborhoods. It's an easy walk to popular restaurants and a quick drive to Lake Michigan. The house offers plenty of light, airy, kid-friendly space with original hardwood floors throughout. The house is popular for vacation rentals. We offer daily and weekly rates for business and personal travel, along with monthly rates for families that need short-term housing in Milwaukee.
Built in 1919, our three-bedroom craftsman bungalow is located on a quiet residential street in Milwaukee's vibrant Bay View neighborhood. Several popular restaurants, coffee shops, and bars are within walking distance, including Burnhart's, Honeypie, Huê, Hungry Sumo, and Sven's. It's an easy drive, a quick bus ride, or a leisurely walk to Collectivo Coffee, Outpost Natural Foods, Groppi's Market, and many other great local businesses.
Beulah Brinton Park is located two blocks away with a playground, sports fields, and outdoor basketball courts. The whole family will enjoy hanging out at South Shore Park on Lake Michigan (about a 5 minute drive). It's also a quick drive or pleasant walk to Chill on the Hill at Humboldt Park. Need some quiet time? We're just around the corner from the Bay View Library.
We have owned this house for years, and done our best to preserve and restore its character while accommodating the necessities of modern life. Here's what you'll find inside: The first floor includes the dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom room with a full-size sofa bed (with the sofa bed folded up, this room can also be used as a TV room or office). Two more bedrooms are located upstairs: a spacious master bedroom with a king bed and a smaller bedroom with a twin-over-full bunk bed. The kitchen includes a gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, and all basic cookware. You can travel light: a clothes washer and dryer are available in the basement. Relax on the outdoor deck or the front porch. We also have a sandbox in the side yard.
Towels and linens are provided, along with soap and shampoo. You'll find extra blankets in the closets if you need them. Guests have access to the entire house, except storage areas.
Although we now live in Iowa, we love this house and the neighborhood, and stay at the house each time we return to visit our Milwaukee friends and family. Please treat our place and our neighbors with respect: no parties, no indoor smoking, no drugs, etc.
WiFi is available. There is a large TV in the living room, a small one in the downstairs bedroom, and a medium-sized one in the master bedroom. All three TVs receive broadcast (over-the-air), and the ones in the living room and master bedroom have Roku boxes that you can use to log into your own Netflix or Hulu subscription (we don't have a subscription for the house itself). The living room TV also has a DVD player (it plays regular DVDs, US/Canada standard, not BluRay).
The house does not have central air conditioning, but we have window air conditioners in each bedroom. If you live elsewhere you might be surprised how little you need the A/C: the house is a few blocks from Lake Michigan, with a micro-climate that is usually a few degrees cooler than the rest of the city in summer, and a few degrees warmer in winter. We participate 100% in the "Energy for Tomorrow" program for electricity from renewable sources.
New! At the urging of our chihuahua-terrier, we are experimenting with allowing small pets (one cat or well-behaved dog per guest). Please bring your own pet bedding - pets are not allowed on the beds. There is an additional $25 per stay cleaning charge for pets - just check the box on your invoice to let us know that you're bringing a pet. The pet cleaning charge will be refunded if the house is free of fur etc. when you depart. Additional charges will apply in case of furniture gnawing or other damage. The Bay View Dog Park is 4 blocks away for off-leash fun!

WHEN CHECKING THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE DAY-OF-WEEK HEADINGS. Some parts of the calendar are set up European-style with Monday as the first day of the week, and in some spots the dates appear in day-month-year format. We hope our service provider will fix these inconsistencies soon!

The house is located on the south side of Milwaukee, with easy access from I-94 or I-794. We have on-street parking only. Like most of Milwaukee, our neighborhood has "odd-even" parking. This means that if you park overnight, you'll need to be on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd-numbered days, and the even-numbered side of the street on even-numbered days. You can register for up to three nights of free overnight parking on the City of Milwaukee website or by phone. For longer stays you will need to purchase a night parking permit. Permits cost about $21 and can be purchased on the city's website or at any Milwaukee police station (the nearest station is at 245 W Lincoln Avenue). There are no restrictions on daytime parking, and night parking permits are not enforced on Saturdays.
